Dear Legacy Academy Community,
I joined Legacy Academy in August
2007 as Principal and I feel privileged to be part of this wonderful
school. The parents and staff work together to make Legacy the best
learning atmosphere possible for our students and I have immensely enjoyed
getting to know the Legacy students. Elizabeth is a lovely community that
really feels like home; the people have been welcoming and kind.
I thought a little information about my background would be in order. I am
a native of Colorado and grew up in Limon. Yes, I’m an old Limon Badger and
our football team was undefeated during all four years I attended Limon High
School (and several more). I attended the University of Northern Colorado
in Greeley for both my undergrad and graduate degrees. After earning my BS
degree, I worked for Central Telephone Company in Las Vegas, Nevada for 9
years which turned out to be invaluable management experience for me. In
August 1981 I was hired to teach high school math at the K-12 school in Hugo
(a little town east of Limon) and in August 1990 I took the principal
position while returning to UNC for a Master Degree in Educational
Leadership. I served as the Genoa-Hugo K-12 principal for 17 years. I have
one daughter, Chanda, who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the
University of Northern Colorado; I enjoyed being back on that campus while
she was there working on her degree. I was excited to join the Elizabeth
District with a new challenge and I look forward to a long-lasting
relationship with the Legacy community. |
