Purpose of Legacy Academy
Athletics:
The purpose of Legacy
Academy Athletics is to contribute to the overall education experience of
the balanced and total student. The essence
of athletics is teamwork, sportsmanship and pride. Through athletics our
students will learn how to become good citizens, how to work together for
a common goal, how to take a leadership role and when to take it. They
will be given the opportunity to
become a part of something that they truly can take pride in and will
learn how to handle themselves in times of victory as well as defeat.
Legacy athletes will learn that participating in athletics is a privilege
not a right. Our students will have to prove themselves every day through
their attitudes on or off the playing field and the weekly grades they
earn. Participation on an athletic team is a privilege that is extended to
every student who is eligible. Every privilege includes responsibility.
The conduct of every athlete is closely observed by many people.
Therefore, it is imperative that each Wild Cat Athlete be a gentleman or
lady of high integrity and honor at all times and in all places. Parents,
coaches, teachers, and administrators also assume the same amount of
responsibility because a successful athlete is successful at home, at
school and on the playing field.
